Simulation Laboratory Section
Students will participate in simulation-based training including:
- Air Embolism
- Oxygenator Failure
- Massive Hemorrhage
- Low Venous Return
- Pump Failure
- ECMO Emergencies
- Emergency Change out procedures
Clinical Experience
The clinical practicum starts on the first day of the program. Students must perform a minimum of 75 adult clinical bypass procedures, 20 Autotransfusion cases, 5 ECMO simulations, 5 Plasmapheresis Procedures, and 10 TAVR observations.
Students will be assigned a clinical instructor who will assist and monitor them throughout the cases in the clinical practicum.
